Begin your journey in care with us - no experience needed, just a passion to make a difference!
When you're new to care, our induction training is designed to give you the essential knowledge and confidence to start your role safely and effectively. Here's what you can typically expect:
At Network Care and Support, we know starting a career in care can be both exciting and challenging. That's why we offer a structured shadowing program to help new carers and support workers build confidence and develop skills from day one.
By shadowing an experienced carer, you'll gain hands-on experience in real-life care situations while being guided by a mentor. The duration of your shadowing will depend on your progress, with regular discussions to assess your development.
During shadowing, you will:
Gain practical experience in personal care, medication management, companionship, and household tasks.
Learn effective communication with clients and their families.
Build confidence in handling real-life situations.
Understand the diverse needs of those we support, from elderly care to learning disabilities.
Shadowing is a supportive experience, allowing you to learn at your own pace. Our goal is to ensure you feel confident and ready to join the Network Care and Support team.
We are committed to ensuring that all our new starters have the knowledge and skills to provide high-quality care. As part of your induction and training, you’ll work towards achieving your Care Certificate, a nationally recognised programme that equips new health and social care staff with the essential skills, knowledge, and behaviours to deliver safe, compassionate, and high-quality support.
You won’t be on your own! You will work through a comprehensive workbook, and our experienced team will be there to support you through every module, offering feedback and assistance when needed.
The workbook ties closely to your day-to-day tasks, allowing you to apply what you’ve learned directly to real-world care scenarios.
You’ll work through the workbook during your shadow sessions. Depending on your development and experience, your manager will help set realistic targets for completion.
Completing the Care Certificate workbook is a significant achievement and is often the first step towards gaining further qualifications in health and social care.
You will understand your role and responsibilities as a care worker, build core skills in communication, safeguarding, infection control, person-centred care, and health and safety, preparing you to deliver safe, compassionate support.
The completion of the workbook involves a combination of self-assessments, practical observations, and reflections on your experience.
Network Care and Support believes in nurturing talent and supporting each team member's growth. With hard work and dedication, you can build a fulfilling and dynamic career with us, making a real difference in the lives of those we care for.
Working within the adults, children’s or supported living teams, take on greater responsibility while building leadership skills. Support the on-call service, maintain continuity of care for clients, lead staff supervisions, conduct spot checks, and mentor junior team members.
Working with individuals who have more advanced or specialist care needs, including chronic or neurological conditions, or long-term health conditions.
Overseeing scheduling and ensuring the smooth operation of care services.
Monitoring and improving the quality of care we deliver.
Helping to find and onboard the next generation of care professionals.
Providing intensive one-on-one care, living with clients to support their daily needs and ensuring continuity of care.
Once staff complete their probationary period, they can enrol in a fully funded Health and Social Care Diploma. Working with our dedicated assessors and training partner, staff gain practical experience and tailored support to develop their skills further. This qualification, alongside hands-on training and guidance from our in-house trainers, opens the door to career progression in specialized roles like live-in care, complex care, and children’s services, or ensuring the highest quality of care is provided to those with learning disabilities.
